Peds 2.0

About this mod Machine translation

Screaming Injured Peds is a script that makes all AI people start screaming, yelling and coughing while they're lying on the floor.

I've done this a long time ago, I first introduced it to an update to the Accuracy Fix mod, and then I made a new mod to modify the AI behavior of being injured, damaged, or lying on the floor. But I'm busy with other projects for ATM, so this is more of a preview of the idea. When I posted the WIP project, some people asked for it on the forum.

The idea is to improve this with more features and something more practical, so keep in mind this is more of a WIP project/preview. More precisely, I want to make a complete script that changes the AI reactions when they take damage, and this is just one part of it.

How does the script work? It analyzes all peds in the area, and if a ped is lying on the floor (the game calls it "injured"), the ped receives a command to play a random pain sound. Actually I just included the burning and coughing SFX, but the idea was to include more. Peds affected by this should have a blip that disappears once the ped finally dies (the script stops working).

Version 2 of this script has a randomization feature that randomly hisses, coughs, or does nothing (vanilla reactions/SFX) so they don't scream all the time. Version 1 is the original version without randomization.

You can follow this trick to avoid peds automatically dying a few seconds after taking damage on the floor. If they die quickly, you may not hear their screams.

This is a .NET script, so you will need ScriptHookV and ScriptHookV DotNet to make your game work properly. Place the DLL file in the Grand Theft Auto V/scripts folder.

Change log

v1: initial version

v2: Timers included: Each ped will now trigger what we can call a "scream event" every 5 seconds. These events will randomly make you yell, cough, or do nothing (vanilla SFX for injured peds). Each activity has the same likelihood (33% each). In the next version I will include an INI file where you can customize everything. Plz, let me know what you think of the system and how you think it could be improved.

Screaming Injured Peds is a script that makes all the AI peds to start screaming, shouting and coughing when they're lying on the floor.

I made this a long time ago and I first though about introducing it on a update of the Accuracy Fix mod, then I though about making a new mod that modifies the AI behaviour when injured, damaged or lying on the floor. But I'm busy ATM with other projects, so this is more like a preview of the idea. Some people asked for it on the forum, when I published the WIP project.

The idea is to improve this with more functions and stuff that make things more realistic, so keep in mind this is more like a WIP project/preview. More exactly, I want to make a complete script that changes the AI reactions when they get hurt, and this is just one part of it.

How does the script work? It analyzes all the peds on the area, if a ped is lying on the floor (what the game calls being "hurt") the ped receives the order to play a random pain sound. Actually I just included the burning and coughing SFX, but the idea is to include more. The peds affected by this should have a blip, which dissappears as soon as the ped finally dies (the script stop working on it).

Version 2 of the script features a randomization that makes the ped scream, cough or do nothing (the vanilla reaction/SFX) randomly, so they won't be screaming all the time. Version 1 is the original one which hasn't got that randomization.

You can follow this trick to avoiding peds automatically dying after a few seconds when they're injured on the floor. If they die soon enough, you might don't hear them screaming like it's intended.

This is a.NET script, so you need ScriptHookV and ScriptHookV DotNet in order to have this working on your game. Put the DLL file on Grand Theft Auto V/scripts folder.

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions

  1. Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
  2. There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
  3. Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
  4. Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.

Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
