About this mod Machine translation
This is a very simple mod designed to improve the sound effects produced by buses in the game. I made a new engine sound using recordings of a GMC RTS, which I think is one of the best-sounding buses.
Buses in the game now have proper growls and engine whistles, making them sound closer to buses than industrial tractors.
suggestion
I recommend using the GMC RTS bus module created by @B4good, although this sound effect will work with almost any bus.
At first, I didn't particularly care about the game's bus sounds. But hearing these unrealistic, very fake sound effects over and over again made me want to change it. :)
Big thanks to @Walter for helping me with the sound effects. If you haven't checked out his work yet, check out his new train sounds (-mods.com/vehicles/improved-freight-train), these are really neat.
Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
