GTA V PC - Switch FAST in MODDED mode without programs.

I made this tutorial because I needed a quick way to switch between a clean version of Gta V and moddata, offline recording..

For several months, Rockstar has been unable to launch Gta V outside of its installation folder.. so even creating a copy of the original folder and inserting the command "-scOfflineOnly" does not work.

Using this method, the moddata folder can be replaced or better still renamed with the name of the original folder. Only then can you launch and use the mod offline.

You can manually rename the folder each time, but for "lazy" people like me, I created a batch file that does this with just one click.

Please strictly follow the instructions you find in the archive, and remember to make a backup before making any changes to the original file.

This video was made using the Rockstar version (ORIGINAL) and is for reference only.

I am in no way responsible for your game files being lost or corrupted.. As mentioned above, please remember to back up..

Theoretically it should also work on Steam.. The important thing is to put this path:

XXX:\steam\steamapps\common

Here is an example of using STEAM to disable automatic updates.

You must find the appmanifest that contains "GrandTheft Auto V"

Go to the path "XXX:\Steam\steamapps" and edit "APPMANIFEST" using NOTEPAD++

See photo essay in example

Minimum requirements: ScriptHook V.

I do this tutorial because I needed a quick way to switch between the clean version of Gta V and the moddata, logging offline..

For some months Rockstar has introduced the inability to start Gta V outside of its installation folder.. so even creating a copy of the original folder and inserting the command "-scOfflineOnly" does not work.

With this method it is possible to replace or better rename the moddata folder with the name of the original one. Only in this way can you start offline and use the mods.

You could rename the folder every time manually, but for those who are "lazy" like me, I created a batch file to perform this operation with just one click.

Follow the instructions you find in the archive with precision and remember to make a backup before any changes to the original files.

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions

  1. Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
  2. There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
  3. Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
  4. Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.

Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
