About this mod Machine translation

This modification brings Crossbow to GTA 5! Featuring numerous custom textures and full scope of work!

*Disclaimer*

A glitch occurs when customizing weapons. The only available accessory currently is an oscilloscope.

(see screenshot). Some glitches include; when selecting the standard sniper rifle (the weapon that was replaced), it first looks like the original sniper rifle, and the textures on the original sniper rifle that are first seen are shiny.

I ran into some issues while trying to complete everything on the list of future updates. I will list all the problems and possibilities for each feature.

  • Archery -

Since the actual bullets don't actually exist as models, I couldn't do that. Due to technical issues I am unable to use the bullet project itself. I'm still looking for a solution.

-Audio-

I've got Crossbow audio working.

-Animations-

Custom animations are not yet available. Yes, people animate weapons, but they just replace the moving parts of the original model with a new one. For the crossbow, I would have to create an actual animation for all the moving parts.

-Textures-

Textures fully functional (please leave suggestions if you like)

  • Add attachments -

It's still W.I.P. but I think I can do it.

How to Install: Crossbow

  • Start OpenIV
  • Go to Grand Theft Auto V /update/x64/dlcpacks/patchday3ng/dlc.rpf/x64/models/cdimages/weapons.rpf
  • Replace w_sr_sniperrifle_hi.ydr, w_sr_sniperrifle_mag1.ydr and w_sr_sniperrifle_mag1.ytd from the "Files" folder

Then select the texture you want from the "Textures" folder and replace w_sr_sniperrifle.ytd and w_sr_sniperrifle + hi.ytd

If you have any comments/questions/suggestions/concerns, please let us know!

If you would like to create a custom skin for your weapon, please email the texture to grbrickster@gmail.com. Please be sure to include your GTA5-Mods.com username so I can provide you with credit.

This modification brings the Crossbow into GTA 5! Featuring a multitude of custom textures and fully working scopes!

*DISCLAIMER*

There are glitches when customizing the weapon. The only attachments that will work at the moment are the scopes.

(Seen in screenshots). Some of the glitches include; when selecting the standard sniper rifle (the replaced weapon) it will first appear to be the original sniper rifle and the texture on the first seen original sniper rifle is glitched.

I have ran into some problems while trying to fulfill everything on the list of future updates. I will list all the problems and possibilities with each of the features.

-Shooting arrows-

I can't do it due to the actual bullet not actually existing as a model. I am not able to have the arrow project itself with the bullet due to technical problems. I am still looking for a work around.

-Audio-

I have gotten the Crossbow audio to work.

-Animations-

Custom animations are not possible yet. Yes, people are making weapons with animations, but they are just replacing the moving parts of the original model with the new model. For the Crossbow, I will have to create an actual animation for all the moving parts.

-Textures-

Textures are full functioning (Leave a suggestion if you wish)

-Added Attachments-

It is still a W.I.P. but I think that I can do it.

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions

  1. Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
  2. There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
  3. Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
  4. Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.

Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
