CoordPrinter coordinate collection tool V1.0
- Script purpose
This tool is intended for all GTA5 modders and map editing enthusiasts. It is used to quickly collect three-dimensional coordinates in the game. It is applicable to a wide range of scenarios:
Record props, vehicles, and character generation points, and create custom refresh scripts
Set map triggers, area range, and area entry and exit determination coordinates
Mark the placement of scene furnishings, decorations, street signs, and obstacles
Collect continuous points and create NPC patrol, vehicle driving, and unit movement routes
Positioning hidden coordinates, custom teleportation points, and archived teleportation coordinates
Organize point data in batches for various types of custom MOD development and map modification and production
- Function details
Press the keyboard F12 shortcut key to complete 4 operations at once:
A prompt pops up in the lower left corner of the game, displaying the X/Y/Z three-dimensional coordinates of the current character in real time.
The coordinates are automatically copied to the system clipboard. Open Notepad, documents, and script codes and paste them directly with Ctrl+V.
Log files are automatically generated. Each time F12 is pressed, a new line with timestamp coordinates is added. Counting the number of lines in the document can count how many points were collected in total.
The SHVDN console outputs coordinates synchronously to facilitate quick verification and troubleshooting of point errors.
The script has been internally optimized for stability so that frequent key presses will not cause game errors or crashes.
- Pre-environment description (divided into two game situations)
Scenario 1: Integrated/Modified version of the game (most players)
The integration package and lazy modified version you download have been pre-installed with a full set of script running hooks. There is no need to download any additional patches. You can directly install this script and use it.
Case 2: Original pure game (never installed any mods)
To run this script, you must manually install two sets of pre-hook files, one of which is indispensable:
Script Hook V (basic hook)
After unzipping, put the two files ScriptHookV.dll and dinput8.dll into the GTA5 game root directory (the same level folder as GTA5.exe)
ScriptHookVDotNet3 (.NET script execution carrier)
After unzipping, put all ScriptHookVDotNet.asi, ScriptHookVDotNet2.dll, and ScriptHookVDotNet3.dll into the game root directory
Tip: Win10 and Win11 systems come with the required system runtime libraries by default, so there is no need to install additional system components.
- Installation method
Unzip the downloaded compressed package and get the CoordPrinter.dll file
Open your GTA5 game total folder (you can see the directory of GTA5.exe)
Go to the existing scripts folder in the folder and throw CoordPrinter.dll into it
If there is no scripts folder in your game, manually create a new one named scripts and put the file in it.
Start GTA5 single-player story mode, the script will automatically take effect, just press F12 to use it
- Usage details
Shortcut key: F12
The log file CoordLog.txt is automatically generated after pressing F12 for the first time. The storage location is: GTA5 game root directory, not in the scripts folder.
- Solving common problems
No response at all when pressing F12
Integrated version: Check whether the dll is placed in the scripts folder in the game root directory
Pure version: Confirm that the above two sets of pre-hooks have been completely installed, and the file placement cannot be wrong.
The game pops up a red exception error
Generally, conflicts occur with other scripts in scripts. Clear scripts and only keep this script for testing to return to normal.
CoordLog.txt log file not found
The log is generated in the outermost total folder of GTA5, not the scripts subfolder. Just go back to the first level directory to search.
Coordinates cannot be automatica …
Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
