No More Nameplates

About this mod Machine translation

TLDR: Remove floating nameplates where you see floating nameplates hovering above other players. Incidentally, this also hides the emoticons since they are attached to the nameplate.

Why

To me, the nameplate screams MMO and really kills immersion. It just prevents them from showing it on anyone.

You can still trade and invite players and see them in the target UI when you look in their direction, and it doesn't affect the map, so you have plenty of ways to identify other players around you.

Install

(shamelessly took this part from my modding hero registrator2000's mod description)

  • Download the mod and extract it to the Fallout 76 Data folder.
  • Add NoMoreNameplates.ba2 to the archive load list in the Fallout76Custom.ini file
  • Start the game.

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions

  1. Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
  2. There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
  3. Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
  4. Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.

Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
