About this mod Machine translation
The Reverse Factory Machine will recycle (uncraft) almost any item placed inside it. Supports recycling of most, if not all, modded items. Fully featured integration with Bobs Mods, Industrial Revolution and Fantario (independently, not simultaneously)
The original mod author (Taniotoshi) graciously allowed me to host and continue work on this mod.
Four (4) tiers are available; each one is getting faster and has more and more module slots.
T1 can only recycle solid finished products that do not fall into the raw material/intermediate category into items
T2 can recycle all solid finished products into finished products
T3 can recycle all solid finished products into items and fluids
The T4 can recycle any item or fluid into items and fluids.
Items that are not recyclable:
Fraction of the recipe (requires 3 copper cables to be recycled into 1 copper plate, etc.).
Recipes that do not require any ingredients (creative mode entities)
Vehicles and Power Armor (unless enabled in settings)
Any items, categories, or subgroups defined by other mods (currently for space exploration only)
Probability-based recipes, or recipes that create multiple outcomes.
Configuration options:
Automatic ingredient push: "Automatically push incomplete recipes to the output slot after a delay".
EX: Attempting to recycle 1 underground conveyor belt (usually in groups of 2) will only push it to the output slot after a configurable delay.
Automatic push delay. Delay between automatic pushes. Setting the delay too low sometimes pushes items to the output before processing begins.
Recyclable power armor and vehicles. Allows recycling of any item with an inventory or equipment grid. Remember to remove any gear or inventory items as they will be deleted when the power armor or vehicle is salvaged.
New experimental setup
Added new setting to convert any fluid results to project (due to the inability to mix fluids in the output pipeline)
Can be converted back to fluid form in a level 2 or higher assembly machine, or
When kegging using a barrel loader (preferred!), an automatic barrel loader/opener, or a belt box, the item must be unbucketed on one of the barrel unloaders (this helps hide the recipe from the assembler crafting menu)
Other mod compatibility:
Bobs mods: Detects intermediates for bob electrons and ores/plates. When detected, statistics are balanced with higher level assemblers.
Fantario: Changed T1-3 machines to heat-based energy sources to match T1-3 assembly machines. The T4 remains electric to match the new T4 assembler. Statistics are balanced with the assembler.
Separate compatibility module
To play AAI+SpaceExploration+Krastorio2+BobLogistics, please use this compatibility patch mod. Many thanks to gcsx for the fix!
For general space exploration, use my Reverse Factory-Space Exploration Postprocess Fix mod to fix any "incorrect reverse recipe" issues (as Trokkin mentioned here)
To play Exotic Industrial, use the YACP patch mod to fix the recipe to use iron machine parts instead of iron gears. Thanks to PseudoDoctor AKA DrFaux for including this mod in their fix!
Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
