About this mod Machine translation

In this Factorio prequel, you are a robot terraforming planets and seeding them with life. Replace all recipes and techniques. No life means no coal, oil, wood, cinders or free oxygen, requiring a variety of renewable energy sources. To ensure reliability, you'll focus on abundant elements from the air, ocean, or common minerals such as iron ore, bauxite, sandstone, and limestone. Advanced technology enables asteroids to mine rare elements.

In this Factorio prequel, you play as a robot sent to terraform barren planets and seed them with life. Eons later, your efforts will result in a galaxy full of planets, ready for engineers to crash land. This is a completely overhauled mod that replaces all recipes and techniques. Lifeless means there is no coal, oil, wood, cinders or free oxygen in the atmosphere. Additionally, since many planets lack rare heavy elements like copper or uranium, your technology will focus on the most abundant, lightest elements.

The basic natural resources are iron ore, sandstone, bauxite, limestone, air, seawater and volcanic gases. Advanced resources such as copper and uranium later became available with the advent of asteroid mining technology. Bauxite is an aluminum ore that is a useful electrical conductor and structural material. Limestone is a source of calcium, used in cement, glass and metallurgy, and a source of trace amounts of sulfur. The sandstone provides silicon, essential for electronics and glass, as well as trace amounts of titanium ore. Air is primarily composed of nitrogen and carbon dioxide (key raw materials for organic chemical products such as plastics), but it also contains smaller amounts of other important gases, including rare gases such as argon and helium. Seawater is hydrogen, oxygen, chlorine, sodium and trace amounts of deuterium, tritium, lithium, and other minerals. Volcanic gases are a source of sulfur, carbon monoxide and trace amounts of boron.

Without coal or free oxygen, there is no burner technology. You rely on a mix of renewable energy. The earliest was wind power, which was intermittent and required spaced turbines. Slightly more advanced alternatives are solar and geothermal. Apparently, solar energy has a usual day and night cycle. Geothermal is the first stable energy source, but it may only be placed in limited volcanic locations. Finally, at a higher level of technology there is nuclear power, including deuterium-tritium fusion and eventually uranium fission (once asteroid mining is unlocked). Wind and solar power require energy storage, but without heavy elements, and batteries require moderately advanced technology. Before unlocking the battery you will need other energy storage strategies including stored hydrogen/oxygen burning during periods of low energy production,

Once you've built up enough of an industrial base to launch rockets, your ultimate goal is to seed the planet with life and launch replicas of yourself so that the process can be repeated on other planets throughout the galaxy. You will need to increase the oxygen levels in the atmosphere and seed a genetically diverse ecosystem of multiple plant and animal species, each with their own requirements for survival. You must re-establish communication with your ancestors to download the genomes of these species and assemble biological material from scratch until you have enough of a population to reproduce naturally. Many of these species produce useful materials cheaper than you can make them, so you may want to integrate some of these organisms into your factory production line.

Mods with their own technology or recipes must be ported to work with Nullius, but these are being added steadily. Already transplanted ODS include: Miniloader, Transport Drone, Jetpack, Factorissimo2, LTN - Logistics Rail Network, Bob's Adjustable Inserter, Safety Waterfill, Delivery Point, Advanced Underground Pipeline, Warehousing, AAI Signaling, Train Supply Manager (TSM), Inductive Charging, Stack Combiner a …

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions

  1. Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
  2. There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
  3. Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
  4. Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.

Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
