national history

Language support

This module supports English and Simplified Chinese. The display language will follow the game's currently selected language.

Introduction

National Histories adds an immersive national history recording system to Europa Universalis V. Each country will have its own history pages to record monarchs, regents, officials, generals, explorers, wars and national chronicles.

Main functions

1.Monarchy

After a monarch dies, the module generates a historical evaluation of his reign. The evaluation will consider aspects such as politics, diplomacy, military, economy, employment, social order and folk memory.

When a regent steps down or dies, it will also be recorded and placed in the Monarchy as a regent evaluation.

  • Discipline of ministers

Cabinet members, officials, army generals, naval generals, and explorers who have served the country will all receive posthumous evaluations after death.

Cabinet members focus on government affairs, finance, foreign affairs, reform and governance performance.

Army generals focus on campaigns, major battles, sieges, occupations, and military impact.

Admirals focus on naval warfare, sea control, and maritime contributions.

Explorers focus on voyages, discoveries, new routes, and impact on nations.

3.War Chronicles

After the war, the module will record the victory or defeat of the war, the performance of the country, the performance of the alliance, key battlefields, outstanding generals, land battles, naval battles, sieges, occupations and post-war effects.

War discipline will differentiate between the performance of your own army and the overall outcome of the alliance camp. The defeat of the alliance will not be directly counted as the defeat of our pro-war war, but the outcome of the alliance will still be described.

4.National history

A new National History column has been added to record the state of the country every three years. A more macro-era summary is generated every fifteen years.

The Chronicle records war, expansion, wealth, stability, exploration, maritime trade, naval affairs, unrest, and peaceful development.

  • Palace of History

High score records will receive the title of Hall of Fame. Monarchs, regents, officials, army generals, naval generals, explorers and wars all have title pools that suit their deeds.

The title system will determine based on the recorded variables. The naval title is used for naval merits, the land warfare title is used for land warfare merits, and the expedition title is used for expedition merits; general titles are used when there are no special conditions.

One-time small reward

Hall records only grant small one-time bonuses such as Prestige, Legitimacy, Army Tradition, or Naval Tradition.

These bonuses do not add permanent modifiers and cannot be stacked over and over again.

How to use

Subscribe and enable this mod.

Start or read archive.

Open any country interface.

Click on the History tab.

Switch between the history of the monarch, the history of the ministers, the history of the war, and the history of the country.

New records are generated upon the death of a monarch, the end of a regency, the death of an official, the end of a war, and the arrival of a chronicle year.

compatibility

This mod modifies the country interface GUI, specifically foreign_country_lateralview.gui, and therefore may conflict with other UI mods that modify the same file.

This module mainly adds records, events and interface content, and does not directly change the national numerical balance.

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions

  1. Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
  2. There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
  3. Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
  4. Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.

Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
