📥 Install ReShade

**Step Guide:**

  • **Download ReShade**
  • Visit the official website:
  • Double-click the downloaded ReShade executable file to start the installer
  • **Select the game executable file**
  • Find and select the game's executable file in the list
  • For Eldenring, the file name is `eldenring.exe`
  • Default Steam version path: `[your Steam installation drive letter]\Steam\steamapps\common\ELDEN RING\Game`
  • **Select Rendering API**
  • Select **Microsoft DirectX 10/11/12**
  • **Select Shader**
  • To ensure that the vignette shader is available, it is recommended to select all shaders
  • No need to worry about performance impact, unused shaders will not be loaded
  • **Complete installation**
  • Wait for all selected shaders to be downloaded

🎯Activation and use

**First time user guide:**

  • **Start the game**
  • When starting the game using ReShade for the first time, you need to wait for the shader to be loaded.
  • If the game is temporarily unresponsive, this is normal, please wait patiently.
  • **Open ReShade menu**
  • Press the **Home** key to activate the ReShade user interface by default

🔧 **Button problem solved:**

  • If the Home button is invalid, you need to manually modify the ReShade.ini file
  • Navigate to the game's home directory and open ReShade.ini with a text editor
  • Find the `KeyMenu=36,0,0` line under the `[INPUT]` section and modify it
  • **Activate Vignette Shader**
  • Search for "vignette" in the ReShade menu
  • Activate the effect after finding it

⚙️ Vignetting effect adjustment

🎨 **IMPORTANT NOTE:**

The vignetting effect will become more noticeable in the game when it is first activated - this is normal! Improvements will only be seen after adjusting the values.

**Recommended value settings:**

  • **Type**: Raw (default)
  • **Scale**: 1.000 (default)
  • **Radius**: 2.200 (new setting)
  • **Strength**: 0.900 (new setting)
  • **Slope**: 2 (default)
  • **Center**: No adjustment required

💡 **Adjustment Tips:**

  • **Radius** and **Slope** are the most important parameters for reducing vignetting effects
  • If you want to further reduce the vignetting effect, you can **reduce the radius value** (try 2.100 or 2.000)
  • Can be combined with **increasing the slope value** to 3 to balance the radius adjustment

📁 Use default file

I've provided two preset files for download:

  • **Main Preset**: Contains only vignetting reduction effect
  • **OPTIONAL PRESET**: Contains vignetting reduction and other additional shaders I use

**How to use:**

  • Extract the Elden.ini file from the archive
  • Place it in the game installation directory (where ReShade is located)
  • Open the ReShade menu in the game and click on the horizontal bar at the top
  • Select my Elden.ini file from the drop down list
  • Confirm Vignette shader effect is activated

🎉 **Test result:**

Select the switch effect key in the settings tab, try to switch the preset on and off, and observe the difference in the screen to confirm the effect!

🏆 Thanks

Special thanks to **Crosire** for creating the awesome ReShade tool!

Hopefully this solution will help you faders have a clearer view of the intersection! ✨

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions

  1. Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
  2. There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
  3. Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
  4. Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.

Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
