Elden Ring Randomizer Hints
🎯 Module Introduction
Elden's Circle Randomizer Tip is a helper mod designed specifically for **Elden's Circle** and works with the item and enemy randomizer and Mistgate randomizer developed by thefifthmatt. It will generate prompt items in the game, providing players with valuable information about **item locations** and **randomized fog door paths**, allowing you to enjoy the freshness of the randomized world while still conducting targeted exploration.
---
✨ Core Functions
Use with item and enemy randomizers
- Prompt items can contain **1-4 pieces of prompt information**, providing item direction, enemy drop information or item ownership information
- Players can customize item categories, and the system will generate prompts pointing to the locations of similar items.
- Support prompt generation for NPC mission items
- Random category prompts and/or specific item prompts can be placed at the corpse of the Finger Witch at the beginning of the game to provide a starting point for exploration.
Use with fog door randomizer
- Prompt items can contain **1-3 prompt messages**, describing the connection path of the fog door or teleportation point
- **NOTE**: This mod only works with the **World Shuffle Mode** of the Mistgate Randomizer
Double randomization support
- Fog doors and/or hints for items needed to pass through the door may be randomly placed near the door
- Random item prompts and fog door prompts may appear in treasure chests and/or boss drops
- The required starting items can be placed in the initial inventory of the Finger Witch Corpse and/or the Twin Crones in the Hall of the Round Table

- DSMSPortable is used to modify game files
Installation method
**Stand-alone EXE version:**
- Download the EXE package and extract it to the target folder
- Run `randomizerHints.exe` to start the program
**Python source code version:**
- Download the source code compressed package and extract it to the target folder
- Run from command line: `python randomizerHints.py`
- Or build your own EXE using the provided batch file: `buildExe.bat`

⚙️ Mod Engine 2 configuration
After generating the prompts, Mod Engine 2 needs to be configured to include the randomized prompt mod. The program will generate a `config_randomizerhints.toml` configuration file.
**IMPORTANT NOTE:**
- In the toml file, `randomizerhints` must be arranged before `fog`, and `fog` must be arranged before `randomizer`
- Any module with a regulation.bin file listed before these lines will overwrite the randomization data and not work properly.
See the documentation folder for detailed configuration instructions.

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
