No Ambient Music
🌟 Function introduction
Remember the Lake of Ashes or the Starting Furnace in Dark Souls 1? Those are rare examples of ambient music in games.
Elden's Circle's ambient soundtracks are beautiful - but the problem is that they're everywhere, playing continuously throughout hundreds of hours of gameplay, and the game itself has no music frequency settings. After a while, you might want to puncture your own eardrums, which is a shame.
This mod attempts to recreate the ascetic audio experience of the Dark Souls series. It disables most ambient music except in a few places:
- 🏰 Social centers (such as Round Table Hall, Volcano Residence)
- 🗼Specific locations where the music is subtle enough (such as Divine Grant Tower, Abyss Forest)
All major boss fight theme music (boss fights within their respective arenas) will play as usual.

⚠️ Technical limitations
The game audio engine has some limitations:
-Basic combat themes (including wild bosses) cannot be enabled separately from environment themes because they are dynamically linked together
- Disabling ambient music for a specific area (overworld or underworld) automatically mutes its base combat music
- Day and night changes for each zone cannot be disabled individually for the same technical reasons

📥 Installation instructions
The music parameters of "Elden's Ring" can only be changed by modifying the regulation.bin file. The safest way to use a modified version of regulation is through the Mod Engine. You need to copy this file to the Mod Engine installation directory. My tarball already contains the correct Mod Engine folder structure.
If you really don't want to use Mod Engine, you can replace the original regulation.bin file in the game folder (please back it up first). Do so at your own risk. Again, never use custom regulations for online games, otherwise your save will be banned!
For those of you who know how to use DSMapStudio or Smithbox, the zip contains a CSV file with all my modifications.

🎮 Game experience
Enjoy a more peaceful exploration experience, with exciting battle music playing only when it really matters - when facing powerful bosses. This design makes the game atmosphere closer to the classic "Dark Souls" series, bringing you a more immersive adventure!
Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
