Metis Mod Launcher

🚀 1.3.0 version update

This update mainly includes the latest version of ModEngine2 2.1.0.0, and fixes the problem that the module/DLL order cannot be saved correctly.

⚠️ Important changes

**Independent archive functionality per profile is no longer supported** due to unstable performance on different systems. It is recommended to use a DLL module that can modify the archive file extension to achieve similar functionality.

🎯 Function introduction

Metis Mod Launcher is a mod launch tool specially designed for "Elden's Circle". It uses **ModEngine2** to make the mod use experience smoother.

ModEngine2 is a modding engine developed by garyttierney, katalash and Dasaav-dsv that hooks games and allows file replacement and DLL injection.

💡 Core Functions

  • **Automatically install ModEngine2**
  • **Intuitive user interface**, supports the import and management of modules and DLLs
  • **Configuration file system** to save different module combinations
  • **Quickly switch** different module configurations, no need to move files manually

📖 User Guide

🔧 Installation method

Run the latest MSI package from the download page, or get the latest release from GitHub.

⚙️ How it works

ModEngine2 uses .toml files to store module configurations. This tool interactively presents and manages these configurations through the WPF user interface.

File/folder selection allows you to select mods and DLLs, which are recorded in an internal database. The database stores a reference to their location on disk and any additional details you provide.

🐛 Known issues

**1. "Archived data corrupted"**

"Elden's Circle" may report this error when creating a new save using a mod. Try removing all mods from the config file and playing again. This should successfully create the archive. You can then exit the game, re-add the mod and continue playing.

**2. "Elden Circle process not found"**

Try installing version 1.1.0-Alpha. If it still doesn't work, go to the settings page to turn off automatic detection, manually select the eldenring.exe file, and try again.

Special thanks to Gary Tierney, katalash, and Dasaav-dsv for their contributions, without whose work this launcher would not exist.

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions

  1. Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
  2. There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
  3. Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
  4. Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.

Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
