Dark Souls 3 Polearm and Historically Accurate Crescent Ax

🎮 **My first mod** - porting my favorite weapon from the Dark Souls series into the Ring of Elden!

✨ Module Features

  • 🔄 **Weapon Model Replacement**: Replaced the pole knife in Elden's Circle with the Dark Souls 3 version model
  • 📐 **Historical Accuracy**: Optional more historically accurate version of Crescent Ax available (rescaled)
  • ⚔️ **Dual Version Choice**: Original Dark Souls 3 Polearm + Historically Accurate Crescent Ax

🎯 Weapon background

This weapon was called the "Scythe" in Dark Souls 1 and 2, and the "Polar" in Dark Souls 3. Its real name should be **Crescent Ax** (Bardiche).

📥 Installation Guide

ModEngine2 method (recommended)

  • Unzip to the /parts folder in the mod folder within the ModEngine2 main folder (if there is no parts folder, please create one)
  • Run launchmod_eldenring.bat from the ModEngine2 folder

UXM Method

  • Use UXM to decompress and patch the Elden Ring
  • Place the file into the /parts folder in the main game folder and overwrite it

💡 **Important Tip**: It is recommended to back up the original file for future restoration of the original Elden Ring Knife

---

⚠️ Notes

  • 🔒 **OFFLINE USE ONLY**: Do not use modified weapons in online games
  • 🩸 **Known issue**: There is no blood effect during execution and backstab (the reason is unknown)

🔄 Update content

A resized version of the same model has been added, closer to the historically (more) accurate Crescent Ax shape. While the ax handle should theoretically be shorter, I decided to keep it as long as it might have a negative impact on the gameplay experience, but this is still a more realistic version.

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions

  1. Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
  2. There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
  3. Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
  4. Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.

Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
