🌟 About this mod

The Long COVID-19 Mode is a challenging module designed to allow players to experience the new difficult life faced by the approximately 65 million Long COVID-19 patients around the world. Based on patient experiences with COVID-19 Europe, this mod translates real COVID-19 symptoms into in-game effects.

🤕 Impact on faders

A common misconception is that COVID-19 is just more severe fatigue. In fact, more than 200 symptoms have been found in patients with COVID-19, affecting multiple organ systems. Long COVID mode exhibits some of these symptoms through your faders.

Occasional symptoms

• **Exercise Intolerance**: Sometimes you will be forced to rest for 3-5 seconds
• **Black Vision**: The field of view gradually darkens, confusing you
• **Loss of sense of time**: Time passes without you realizing it
• **Memory Failure**: Randomly lose a certain number of runes
• **Indigestion**: Healing may damage you instead of restoring health
• **Post-exercise malaise**: Feeling extremely exhausted and knocked unconscious for a few seconds

Persistent symptoms

• **Fatigue**: All actions are slowed down by 25%
• **Exhaustion**: Stamina recovery rate is greatly slowed down during combat.
• **Cognitive Dysfunction**: Hitting targets with spells and bows becomes more difficult
• **Joint Pain**: Using a charged attack will hurt yourself
• **Not enough rest**: It takes longer to get up from the blessing point

💊 Is there any treatment?

While treatments for some symptoms of COVID-19 are effective for some people, there is currently no panacea that works for everyone. Just like real-world patients, the best thing you can do right now is rest more often and hope not to experience too many symptoms at once.

Extract the file into your Elden Ring/Game folder and run it using launchmod_ERLongCovid.bat file (thanks to katalash for creating ModEngine2 to make loading mods easy)

• It is estimated that at least 65 million people worldwide are suffering from COVID-19, with cases increasing every day
• A considerable number of COVID-19 patients are unable to return to work
• Many patients have difficulty completing basic daily activities and experience a variety of secondary mental health issues
• Few COVID-19 patients fully recover
• One-third of COVID-19 patients have no known past medical history

This is pro bono work for Long Covid Europe. The intention of this mod is not to trivialize patients' conditions, but to target people who don't understand these conditions and how difficult life can be with them.
