- Install ModEngine2
- Place the selected .dcx file into the ModEngine2\\mod\\parts folder
- Use ModEngine2’s launchmod_eldenring.bat to launch the game
⚠️ IMPORTANT NOTE
This mod replaces the original knight's helmet. Since the mesh of the Penitent's hood may cross mold with some armor parts that are not originally hidden by the knight's helmet, it is recommended to use DSMapStudio to make the following adjustments:
- Open regulation.bin → EquipParamProtector
- Import the .csv file provided in the folder
- or manual setting: select 1500000 [Knight Helmet] → set invisibleFlag_SexVer 34, 38 and 39 to 1
- Place the modified regulation.bin into the ModEngine2\\mod folder

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
