Appearance modifications to make certain high-efficiency armor parts look like two Geralt cosplay outfits

Optimized Elden Ring Outfit - Geralt of Rivia

🎭 **Want to cosplay Geralt, but the armor lacks toughness? ** This mod changes the appearance of certain armor pieces to match two of my personal favorite Geralt cosplay looks. Check out the module pictures to see the specific effects.

✨ Affected Parts

  • **Exiled Knight Greatsword** - Looks like a longer sword
  • **Tree Sentinel Armor** - Looks like Rough Militia Armor
  • **Mallenia Armor** - looks like prisoner costume
  • **Fire Bishop Gauntlets** - Look like leather gloves
  • **Tree Sentinel Leggings** - Looks like the Rough Militia Leggings
  • **Fire Bishop Leggings** - Looks like Squire's Trousers
  • **Civilian Headband (Modified)** - Optional file makes it invisible

⚙️ Installation instructions

  • Install Mod Engine 2
  • Paste the .dcx file downloaded from the mod page into the `ELDEN RING\Game\ModEngine-2.0.0-preview3-win64\mod\parts` directory
  • Launch the game via `launchmod_eldenring.bat` to disable EAC and play offline (mods are currently not available online)

🔧 Known issues

  • **[SOLVED]** Modifying the Banished Knight Greatsword also ends up changing the appearance of the sword (making it longer), which is an unexpected change that I don't know how to fix.

🤝 Synergy with other modules

Helmets are generally not allowed in Geralt cosplay, except for headbands. A good solution is to use my mod with Dweet's **Toggle Helmet Visibility** mod, which allows players to hide the helmet. The benefit of this is that you get higher armor efficiency since you're able to use the head slot.

To do this, I've released an optional file specifically designed for use with this mod (see the mod image).

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions

  1. Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
  2. There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
  3. Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
  4. Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.

Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
