Denumber Elden Ring - Classic Names Restoration

✨ Module introduction

When I first saw the silly numbers next to the items, I honestly thought these were just placeholders that would be replaced soon. But then I discovered that in the pre-release version (v1.0), the golden runes and forge stones had proper names. Therefore, I made this mod to fix this, return to the correct naming system, and change some other items to add unique names.

---

🎯 Main functions

  • Provide unique names for various item variants such as Forge Stone, Lost Forge Stone, Necropolis of the Valley, Graveyard of the Valley, Golden Runes, Shadow Runes, Ring Beads, Cooking Books, etc.
  • Completely remove the numbering system from item names

-Restore the original classic naming style of the game

📥 Installation Guide

  • Install the latest version of Mod Engine 2
  • Unzip and put the "msg" folder into the "mod" folder of Mod Engine 2
  • Done! Launch the game via launchmod_eldenring.bat while Steam is running

🎮 Game version compatibility

This mod is specially made for game version 1.16. I can't test old versions, for future versions I will update if needed.

⚠️ Conflict description

Since this is a simple rename mod, there shouldn't be any conflicts. If you find any issues please let me know and I will update the description.

🔮 Future Plans

There are currently no plans for future updates as all items have been properly "de-digitized". If better suggestions come forward, some names may be updated to better fit the game world.

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions

  1. Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
  2. There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
  3. Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
  4. Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.

Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
