Movement, attack, and presence all consume runes. If the runes reach zero, you will get stuck or die.
Capitalism Mod
🎯 Core Functions
This is a highly customizable mod that consumes runes whenever you move, consume stamina, take damage, deal damage, or simply exist (passively drained over time). You can also configure the consequences of running out of runes: being unable to move, unable to use stamina, unable to attack, or instantly dead.
💡 Design Concept
This mod uses runes as a metaphor for primitive capital accumulation, motivating players to act for the sake of hoarding and capital accumulation, even at the expense of reasonable game behavior. Mod mechanics are somewhat similar to real-world microtransactions and in-game currency applications.
Metaphors aside, this mod is designed to provide a **fun challenging experience**!

🎮Basic installation
- Download the module and extract it to any location
- Enter the capitalism directory and click `launchmod_eldenring.bat` to start the game
- After loading the game, actions such as movement and attack will consume runes. When the runes return to zero, you will be unable to act.
⚙️ Configuration instructions
Edit the `Capitalism_config.ini` file in the `dll` directory to customize:
- Which actions consume runes?
- Consequences when runes are exhausted
- Most settings take effect in the game immediately after saving
Each setting in the configuration file is described in detail, and most can be managed with simple true/false switches.
🖥️ Rune Counter Overlay
If `enableOverlay` is true in the configuration, the game will start a web server that displays an enlarged rune counter and details the difference when runes are gained or lost.
**How to use:**
-Default access address:
- Mainly used for OBS overlay for anchors to use
- Can also be used in actual games
**Setup steps:**
- Use the Minimal HUD module to hide the built-in rune counter
- Add the web page in OBS as the browser source, and set the height to 220
- Multi-monitor users can open the counter window on another screen
🚪 Fog gate fee (only versions 1.10 and 1.10.1)
Add a fixed fee to the entrance to important bosses (achieved bosses) to unlock them.
**Installation method:**
- Download the fog door fee optional file and unzip it
- Paste the `fog_cost` directory into the capitalism module directory
- After starting the game, the fog door will require payment to enter.
🔀 Compatible with randomizer
This mod can be combined with Elden Ring Item + Enemy Randomizer v0.9.1 or higher.

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
