Great Rune Overhaul

🎮 **Let Big Rune truly show its value! **

✨ Mod Concept

Simply put, the gameplay and impact of the Big Rune in the original game didn't feel "great" enough. This mod aims to improve this by adding passive effects to the Great Rune, providing permanent upgrade effects that can stack on top of each other to create new paths for character growth.

These upgrades are designed to be simple but fun enhancements with some thematic relevance, without making your character overly powerful even if you get multiple of them.

🔮 Core Mechanism

  • **Activation Conditions**: After activating the rune in the Grant Tower, the new effect will take effect. The Big Rune will appear as a status effect icon
  • **Lenala's Rune of the Unborn**: an immediate passive effect that provides additional growth in the early game
  • **Legacy Mechanic Retained**: The mechanic of using Rune Arc to activate big runes still exists and works properly, meaning you can only activate one, but they stack with all new passive effects
  • **Special Enhancements**: The rune arc effects of Rakad, Monge and Malenia have also been adjusted or additional effects have been added to make them more useful compared to others

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions

  1. Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
  2. There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
  3. Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
  4. Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.

Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
