Banished Knight Altered set - Custom Edits
🎯 **An armor set that should be brilliant but is weighed down by a lot of weird details**. The existing mods only solved some of the problems I had, so I decided to make a version that was modified exactly to my liking.
---
✨ Major changes
- **Waist Protection**: Added a piece of plate armor to the waist of the armor, covering the exposed hips
- **Thigh Protection**: Added plate armor to the back of each thigh for better protection
- **Foot improvements**: Change the duck-foot-shaped foot nails into normal foot nails shape
- **Shoulder simplification**: remove the horn-like decoration on the right shoulder
- **Crotch Flattening**: Flattened the protruding crotch armor and adjusted the normal map to match the new geometry
- **Material Optimization**: Slightly change the texture of body parts, covering some black parts with shiny silver
🐉 Helmet improvements
- **Symmetrical design**: Straighten the dragon tail on the helmet, now it is completely symmetrical and no longer looks like a curly pastry
- **Details Optimization**: Minor adjustments to the dragon's wings and horns, which previously looked like antlers
- **Glove Repair**: Change the glove-like gauntlet on the right hand to a normal gauntlet, which solves the blood map error caused by UV problems
- **PAULDER FIX**: Fixed a weight draw issue on the front of the right shoulder, preventing it from bending and sinking into the body when using the shoulder weapon
🔄 Optional variations
There are also some optional parts made, if you feel they suit your style better:
- **Alternative Helmet**: version without dragon decoration
- **Minimalist Helmet**: dragon-less, hair-less version
- **Ultra-simple helmet**: no dragon, no hair, no neck guard version
- **Symmetrical Breastplate**: Use larger shoulder armor with symmetrical design on both shoulders
---
📋 Version History
**Version 1.2** - Fixed a crash that could occur when equipping the helmet or legs
**Version 1.1** - Fixed minor seams on the sides of the gauntlets, improved leg response to light
---
🛠️ Installation instructions
- **Unzip the file**: First unzip the downloaded .rar file, which contains a "parts" folder
- **ModEngine2 users**:
- Place the "parts" folder into the "mod" folder of Mod Engine
- If you already have the "parts" folder of other modules, you can also directly put the .dcx file into it.
- **Metis Mod Launcher Users**:
- Launch the program and select the "Mods" tab on the left
- Select "Add from folder" and select the directory where the "parts" folder will be placed
- Select the profile in the "Profiles" tab and check the newly added module in "Select Module"
💡 **Tips**: If you want to keep the original version of a certain part, just delete the corresponding file in the "parts" folder of my mod: AM for gauntlets, BD for armor, LG for legs, HD for helmet.
To use an alternate version, simply download the main file and the alternate version you want, place the alternate DCX file into the "parts" folder of the main file and overwrite it. You can also do this with other mods that modify this set, if you prefer the other mod's modifications to a certain part.
Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
