Elden Mod Auto Toggler
🎮 **Say goodbye to the trouble of manually switching modules! ** Tired of constantly modifying "dinput8.dll" files to switch between vanilla game and modded experiences? This handy launcher will manage it all for you automatically and can be easily added to your desktop or Steam shortcut!
✨ Core Functions
- **Smart Automatic Switching**: Mod Engine 2 and Elden Mod Loader are automatically enabled when starting the mod game, and automatically disabled when switching to the original game
- **Seamless experience**: No need to manually rename or move files, everything is done automatically
- **Strong Compatibility**: Stay compatible with future Elden Mod Loader updates
- **Easy Integration**: Easily create desktop or Steam shortcuts
🛠️ How it works
Mod Engine 2 works in a standalone manner, and you can launch the original game normally at any time. But for Elden Mod Loader, the situation is different - EAC will prevent you from launching the original game due to the "dinput8.dll" file.
This launcher cleverly renames "dinput8.dll" to "dinput8" after the Elden Mod Loader is loaded, allowing the original game to launch. The next time you run the launcher, it will rename "dinput8" back to "dinput8.dll" to launch the mod game. The entire process is completely automatic and silent!
⚠️ Important reminder
If you use a deeply modified mod, it may cause the original game to recognize the archived data as "cheating" and even ban you from participating in online play. To avoid this, it is recommended to install a mod that alternates save files (such as Seamless Co-op or Elden Ring Alt Saves) to ensure that the original game's save files are not corrupted.
🔧 Installation requirements
- Mod Engine 2 and this module must be installed in the "ELDEN RING\Game" directory
- Requires both Mod Engine 2 and Elden Mod Loader installed
🎯 Special Edition
An alternative executable version with an icon has been updated for Elden Ring Reforged.

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
