Albion's Knecht Kriegsmesser
✨ Module introduction
As a HEMA student and Langesmesser enthusiast, I've always wanted to see my favorite sword in Elden's Circle, my favorite game. However, I was disappointed with the "Grossmesser" in the game - it was a strange, oversized, Turkish Pala-style saber.
⚔️ Features
- **Model Replacement**: Replaced the original Grossmesser model with an accurate model based on Albion Knecht Kriegsmesser
- **Historical Restoration**: Restore the authentic medieval Kriegsmesser (war knife) design
- **Beautiful Details**: Features premium models posted by Julian Blane on Sketchfab
📜 Historical background
The Kriegsmesser (war knife) is a two-handed sword developed in the late Middle Ages and is a two-handed version of the Langesmesser (long sword). Features of these knives are:
- Single edge design (usually with short false edge)
- Knife style handle structure
- Metal hand guard parts called nagel (nails)
-Essentially a single-edged sword with a utilitarian handle
This mod is specifically inspired by the Knecht model produced by Albion, which is a very high-end longsword model.
🛠️ Current status
- The model is still being fine-tuned, and the position of the nagel guard needs to be corrected.
- No unique inventory icon yet
- Extra textures that come with the model may not be applied

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
