Abyss Watchers and Farron Greatsword Animation Repository

🎮 **Resource Introduction**

This is an animation resource library from the "Dark Souls III" BOSS Abyss Watcher. It also contains the Ash User's Flan Greatsword animations. These animations have been retargeted to the player character for modders to use in their own mods.

💡 **IMPORTANT NOTE**

  • This is not a playable mod
  • Contains only collection of hkx animation files
  • Putting it directly into the mods folder will have no effect

📚 Learning resources

For non-modders who want to learn how to use these resources, I recommend:

📝 Instructions for use

Each file name corresponds to its original animation in the anibnd file of Abyss Monitor c3040. Please view it in DSAnimStudio to understand the specific meaning of each animation.

⚠️ **Note:**

  • There is a separate running attack animation in the file, but DSAnimStudio shows that the game is not using it, instead using the first light attack animation as the running attack
  • There is also a separate parry animation, but it is visually indistinguishable from other shield parries and therefore not included

🌟 **Usage Suggestions**

These high-quality animation assets are ideal for creating new weapon mods, combat system improvements, or character movement replacements. It is recommended to preview all animations in DSAnimStudio to understand their specific effects before integrating them.

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions

  1. Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
  2. There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
  3. Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
  4. Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.

Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
