Technical Implementation

PlanetWormhole operates by intercepting the game’s logic at the end of each factory frame. Its internal mechanics can be broken down into three main processes:

  • Systematic Scanning: The mod scans all active components on a planet—including assemblers, labs, power generators, silos, and turrets. It identifies which buildings have surplus output and which are awaiting input.
  • Programmatic Distribution: Rather than simulating physical travel, the mod calculates the total supply and demand within a "virtual buffer." It then directly adjusts the internal inventories of the buildings. If an assembler needs iron ingots and a storage tank has them, the mod decrements the tank and increments the assembler simultaneously.
  • Virtual Proliferation: The mod includes an automated Proliferator system. It checks for the presence of Proliferator MK3 in your global storage. If available, it "consumes" the required amount virtually and applies the production speed or extra product bonuses to the transferred items automatically.
  • Performance Optimization: To ensure game stability, the mod utilizes multi-threading. By offloading these calculations to the ThreadPool, it minimizes the impact on the game's main simulation thread (UPS/FPS).

Function introduction

"Planet-level material sharing"

In the original game, if you wanted to transport iron blocks from Factory A to Factory B, you needed to pull a conveyor belt, or build two logistics towers and equip them with transporters.

After installing this module, all buildings on the planet will share a "virtual warehouse":

  • Automatic supply and demand: As long as building A produces something, if building B needs it, the materials will be "moved instantly" there.

*Replace Logistics Tower: You no longer need to build logistics towers all over the planet for the purpose of dispatching materials within the planet.

  • Automatic spraying (production increasing agent): It will automatically consume your stored "production increasing agent MKIII" and add the production increasing effect to all transferred materials, eliminating the trouble of covering the sprayer.
  • Interstellar transportation (optional): It can even automatically balance the supplies in the logistics tower across planets (needs to be turned on in settings).

Technical principles

  • Scanning inventory: The module will regularly scan all buildings on your planet (fabrication benches, furnaces, research stations, power plants, etc.).
  • Registration needs and outputs:

It looks at which buildings have "extra products" (such as iron in the furnace).

It looks at which buildings are "lack of raw materials" (e.g. a crafting station requires iron blocks).

  • Instant matching: The module directly modifies the data in the background, subtracts the extra number from building A, and adds it to the raw material field of building B.
  • Virtual spraying: The module will check whether there is "Production Booster MKIII" in your storage box. If so, it will directly deduct the quantity of production-increasing agent and add production-increasing points to all "teleported" materials.
  • Multi-thread optimization: In order to prevent the game from lagging, these complex calculations are processed in parallel using the computer's multi-core CPU (ThreadPool).

Install & use Install: BepInEx plugin

  1. The archive from playbuff is the mod itself — usually a BepInEx plugin (a .dll or a plugin folder once unzipped).
  2. Recommended: use a community mod manager (such as r2modman) — pick this game, import the mod, and the manager sets up BepInEx and its dependencies for you.
  3. Manual route: install the BepInEx loader in the game folder, then drop the unzipped .dll or plugin folder into BepInEx/plugins/.
  4. Launch the game — the BepInEx console logs every plugin it loads; seeing this mod in the log means it is installed.

Mods with listed dependencies need those installed too, or they will not load. Options are usually changed in-game or in the plugin's config file.

Install these first, or the mod will not work:
