Icarus Model Replacement
look at me in chinese
Replaced Icarus's appearance with Gugga. The model is provided with the Mod, is enabled by default, and can be used after entering the archive. Custom models are also supported, and changing models does not require recompiling the DLL.
Configuration items
BepInEx/config/org.fyyy.icarusmodelreplacement.cfg is generated after first startup. When using only the built-in Guga, there is no need to modify the configuration.
Directory under [Model] determines which model is used:
| value | effect |
|---|---|
| builtin (default) | Use built-in guga |
| Model folder path | Use a custom model; supports paths relative to BepInEx/plugins/ or absolute paths |
| Leave blank | Restore original Icarus |
Restart the game after editing the configuration file to take effect. Use the configuration manager to modify this item and switch it directly in the game. Upgrading will retain existing configurations.
Features and limitations
The character walks, levitates and flies with Icarus, only replacing the appearance without modifying the collision, saving or combat logic. The mecha editor retains its original functions, and the flamethrower, shield, and weapon effects still use Icarus's skeletal positions.
When the model fails to load, a log will be recorded and Icarus will be retained. Switch the model or reload the file and try again. The original model is restored when deactivating the plugin, clearing the selection, or exiting the archive.
The built-in model has no dedicated expressions, mining or combat animations. Custom models support a mesh, a PNG atlas, a material, and up to 256 bones with up to four weights per vertex. Skeletons and actions are defined by the model file, see MODEL_FORMAT.md for the production method.

README
Replaces Icarus with Cute Gugugaga. The model is included and enabled by default when you load a save. Custom models are also supported, with no DLL rebuild needed to switch characters.
Configuration
The first launch creates BepInEx/config/org.fyyy.icarusmodelreplacement.cfg. You can leave it unchanged to use the included Gugugaga.
Directory in the [Model] section selects the model:
| Value | Effect |
|---|---|
| builtin (default) | Use the included Gugugaga |
| Model folder path | Use a custom model, with a path relative to BepInEx/plugins/ or an absolute path |
| Empty | Restore the original Icarus |
Restart the game after editing the file. Changes made through a configuration manager apply in game. Updates preserve your existing configuration.
Features and limits
The character follows Icarus while walking, hovering and flying. The mod changes appearance without modifying collision, save data or combat logic. The mecha editor keeps its existing functions; thrusters, shields and weapon effects still use Icarus's bone positions.
If a model fails to load, the mod logs the error and keeps Icarus visible. Changing the selection or reloading the save retries loading. Disabling the plugin, clearing the selection or leaving the save restores the original model.
The included model has no dedicated facial, mining or combat animations. Custom models support one mesh, one PNG atlas, one material and up to 256 bones, with at most four weights per vertex. Model files define the skeleton and motion. See MODEL_FORMAT.md for the export format.

Install & use Install: BepInEx plugin
- The archive from playbuff is the mod itself — usually a BepInEx plugin (a .dll or a plugin folder once unzipped).
- Recommended: use a community mod manager (such as r2modman) — pick this game, import the mod, and the manager sets up BepInEx and its dependencies for you.
- Manual route: install the BepInEx loader in the game folder, then drop the unzipped .dll or plugin folder into BepInEx/plugins/.
- Launch the game — the BepInEx console logs every plugin it loads; seeing this mod in the log means it is installed.
Mods with listed dependencies need those installed too, or they will not load. Options are usually changed in-game or in the plugin's config file.
Install these first, or the mod will not work:
