DSPAddPlanet moooooon patch

v3.0.15·Updated 2026-07-23

DSPAddPlanet_moooooon_patch: custom DSPAddPlanet fork with moon-of-moon support and GalacticScale-style themes for Dyson Sphere Program.

About this mod Machine translation

DSPAddPlanet-moon^2-patch

This is a personal fork of "Dyson Sphere Project" DSPAddPlanet maintained by Zincon. It is not the original DSPAddPlanet, nor GalacticScale.

Let me talk about it first: Zincon himself is a pure code novice, and he doesn’t even know what software he should use to edit code. The original intention of making this Mod is very simple: I just want to meet my own needs in the game, and I really hope to make a Mod that can add "satellites of satellites" by myself. However, the original author has not updated it for a long time. Fortunately, the development of AI has given me the opportunity to make a Mod that meets my needs with the help of AI based on the code open sourced by the original author.

I am also very grateful to the game production team of "Dyson Sphere Project". The fun of playing around with galaxy generation, planet themes, and satellite systems wouldn't be possible without the game itself.

Also, I really like some of the custom planet themes in GalacticScale. Therefore, here is a simple personal Mod: retain DSPAddPlanet’s idea of customizing planets, add the satellite function of satellites, and try to bring some GalacticScale style themes into DSPAddPlanet to meet your own gaming needs.

Special thanks to:

  • LittleSaya / IndexOutOfRangeDSPMod / DSPAddPlanet
  • Touhma / DSP Galactic Scale
  • "Dyson Sphere Project" game production team
  • Development of Codex-GPT and AI tools

Be sure to back up archives and configuration files before use. After adding or modifying planets, saves may not be safe to restore.

What’s new compared to the original DSPAddPlanet

This fork retains the "customize adding planets through XML" usage of the original DSPAddPlanet, and adds the following additional capabilities. Only the shortest way of writing is listed here. See the complete examples and precautions below.

  • Adding planets by star ID: Target stars no longer have to rely on names that may change. The shortest way to write it: 31. After modifying the star name, type or parameters, the planet will still be added to ID 31; the old way of writing star names will continue to be compatible.
  • A clearer star map information panel: the star name on the left directly displays the ID, and the complete UniqueStarId XML can be copied on the right; the planet is indented step by step according to "Planet → Satellite → Deeper Satellite", and the same parent star is sorted by orbitIndex, and the maximum used Index and the recommended next Index are displayed.
  • Satellites of satellites: Added planets can orbit another satellite. The shortest way to write it: 5. The 5 here fills in the Index of the parent planet; OrbitAround still needs to be retained; OrbitIndex controls the orbit sequence number; Number controls the number under the center of the orbit.
  • GalacticScale style planet theme: You can also use Beach, GiganticForest, SulfurSea and other themes without turning on GalacticScale. The shortest way to write it: Beach. Choose one of ThemeName and ThemeId. It is recommended to use ThemeName; for solid planets, GasGiant=false is usually written.
  • GalacticScale style gas giant: You can add gas giant themes such as Inferno and OilGiant. The shortest way to write it: trueOilGiant. GasGiant recommends writing both GasGiant=true and DontGenerateVein=true.
  • Control whether new themes are generated in random star areas: You can choose whether ordinary random star areas will naturally spawn these new themes. The shortest way to write it: false. This line is written below `; false means it is only used when ThemeName is manually specified; true` means random generation may also be used.
  • Compatible with non-200 radius planets: When using a custom radius such as 100, it will automatically take effect without adding a configuration line. Clouds and local atmospheric blur will follow the true radius; the range of mining machines and minerals, and the width of the conveyor belt grid will also be calculated based on …

Install & use Install: BepInEx plugin

  1. The archive from playbuff is the mod itself — usually a BepInEx plugin (a .dll or a plugin folder once unzipped).
  2. Recommended: use a community mod manager (such as r2modman) — pick this game, import the mod, and the manager sets up BepInEx and its dependencies for you.
  3. Manual route: install the BepInEx loader in the game folder, then drop the unzipped .dll or plugin folder into BepInEx/plugins/.
  4. Launch the game — the BepInEx console logs every plugin it loads; seeing this mod in the log means it is installed.

Mods with listed dependencies need those installed too, or they will not load. Options are usually changed in-game or in the plugin's config file.
