DLB PlayerMod Merger Tool
🎮 **Tired of choosing between different mods? **
Have you ever been in a situation where you downloaded two great gameplay mods, only to find that they conflict because you both edited the `player_variables.scr` file? This tool is the perfect solution for you!
---
✨ Core Functions
- **Smart Merge Technology**: Automatically merge all non-conflicting changes from different mods into one main `player_variables.scr` file
- **Interactive Conflict Resolution**: When two mods modify the same settings, the tool pauses and asks you which version you want to keep, giving you complete control!
- **Multiple file type support**: The tool can also detect other files in the module archive (such as weather scripts), and will ask you for options if duplicate files are found
- **Direct Archive Processing**: No need to unzip any files! Just drop your mod directly into the folder in `.zip` or `.7z` format
- **Automatic packaging generation**: The final result is a clean, ready-to-use `data3.pak` file, no additional steps required
---
🚀 User Guide
The process is extremely simple and the required original game files are included for your convenience:
- Place all the mods you want to merge (`.zip` or `.7z` archive files, even data2-3-10-etc.pak files) into the `02_Put_Mods_Here` folder
- Run the `mod_merger.exe` program
- If any conflicts are found, follow the on-screen instructions
- Get your new, perfectly merged `data3.pak` from the `OUTPUT_Merged_Mod` folder
- Place the new `data3.pak` into the `\Dying Light The Beast\ph_ft\source\` path of the game installation folder and replace the existing file if prompted.
- Make sure there are only 4 files in the final folder: `Data0.pak`, `Data1.pak`, `databt.mpak` and **the modified Data3.pak** which contains the merged content of all other modules
---
⚠️ IMPORTANT NOTE
This tool creates a **new** modpack from the source files you provide. The generated `data3.pak` is intended to **replace** any other mods you have that edit the same file. It will not be merged with the existing `data3.pak` in the game folder. Be sure to back up your files before installing new mods!

🔧 Technical Support
For complete transparency, this tool is completely open source. If you have any concerns about running the .exe file, or just want to understand how it works, you can view the full source code on GitHub. Advanced users can also build their own applications.

📁 Supported formats
The tool can read modules in `.zip`, `.7z` and raw `.pak` file formats. **.rar format is not supported**.

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
