About this mod Machine translation

The following are the words of the original author, Google Translate + Manual modification

I had never driven in the moonlight and thought it would be easier to drive without the headlights on. Not sure what the developers wanted, but other than the excessive blue tint and daylight brightness, I'd like to fix it. I almost did it, so here it is.

suggestion

It is recommended to play in survival mode without HUD and without focus visual highlighting. Be as real as possible.

NAR, highly recommended. Thanks, Alan Poster, for a job well done.

Environmental Explosions, trust me when you're fighting hordes in the dark you want your explosions to be capped at 20 kills.

Make it bright out there, my mod can increase the intensity of flashlights and headlamps you need for proper lighting in the dark

what it can do

Detects how bright a scene is and makes parts that should be dark darker and slightly less saturated. (Have you ever seen anything but more colorful light in the dark?)

Nights under the moonlight are even more real. You can see things, but barely, especially if they are far away. Don't worry, the moon still helps, but good luck driving without headlights.

In daytime and bright scenes, the effect is essentially reduced by 99%. The 1% effect highlights ambient occlusion more.

No more ridiculous enemies wielding flashlights when they clearly don't need them.

CTRL-L if you need to turn it on or off for any reason

Known issues

  • Snow will slightly affect brightness detection and the effect may fluctuate
  • Walking through a shady area can sometimes darken it, especially if there are a lot of shadows.
  • The daytime sniper scope view is slightly darker, but still usable.
  • This does not affect enemy vision. They will detect/see you are all the same.

bug

I don't know, but I haven't done extensive testing. If you run into any issues please let me know and I'll add them here.

compatibility

Uses custom modification/rename effects so should not conflict with any other recolor mods.

Again, it is recommended to install NAR. Without it, I can't vouch for the intended visual effects, as I've never tested without the mod.

Install

  • Install Reshade. Just download the basic effects, I've included the effects in the download.
  • Extract the contents of the zip file into the game folder where DaysGone.exe is located. Make sure to cover, especially Reshade.ini.

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions

  1. Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
  2. There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
  3. Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
  4. Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.

Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
