Darkwater Push To Talk
A BepInEx mod for Darkwater that changes the voice chat system from voice activation to push-to-talk. The key used for push-to-talk is fully configurable via the mod's config file.
Features
- Replaces voice activation with push-to-talk for voice chat.
- Allows users to configure which key/button activates voice chat.
- Uses Unity's Input System for flexible key binding.
Manual Installation
- Install BepInEx for Darkwater.
- Download this mod's DLL from the releases.
- Place the DLL in your BepInEx/plugins folder.
Configuration
After first launch, a config file will be generated in BepInEx/config. You can set the push-to-talk key there. The default is the V key on your keyboard.
To choose a different key or button, refer to the Unity Input System documentation for valid key strings:
Unity Input System Key Documentation
Examples:
- /v (default)
- /forwardButton
Usage
Hold the configured key to transmit your voice. Release the key to stop transmitting.

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- Most mods rely on the game's mod loader — the usual route is a community mod manager (such as r2modman): pick this game, install, and it handles the loader and dependencies.
- For a manual install, put the mod files into the matching Mod / plugins folder inside the game directory.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; mods with listed dependencies need those installed as well.
Install locations vary a lot between mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
