Vernon Roche - Leper Skin

🎮 **A leper skin inspired by Vernon Roche, the commander of the Blue Iron Guard in "The Witcher 2", trying to maintain the original art style of "Darkest Dungeon". **

---

✨ Module Introduction

"Vernon Roche! Commander of the Special Forces for the past four years, servant of the Temerian King.
Responsible for quelling the rebellion in the foothills of Mahakam. Elf hunter, murderer of women and children.
Awarded twice for bravery on the battlefield..."
"Iorveth! - a complete son of a bitch."
——Vernon

This skin reimagines the leper character from "Darkest Dungeon" as the iconic Temerian commander Vernon Roche from the "Witcher" series. This is an unofficial fan creation.

📝 Update log

**Update 1.3**

  • Fixed combat stance to adapt to the latest update of Darkest Dungeon.

*Thank you everyone for your patience.

**Update 1.2**

  • **Fixed face black contrast**: in standby, walking, combat pose, and portrait (face was slightly gray before).
  • **Improved leg chain armor**: Make it more consistent with the basic art style of the game.
  • **2 new color variants added**:
  • A less vivid blue.
  • Black.
  • **Installation Tips**: If the changes are not displayed in the game, please try to cancel the subscription and then resubscribe (new subscribers will not be affected).
**Author's Note**: Someone brought up the issue of the blue being too bright, I personally like the original version but now you are given a less vivid option. Regarding the color options, I don’t want to add too much, as 3 is a bit exaggerated for a character that already has a clear definition. But since someone mentioned it, a black variant has been added. I originally just wanted to make one, thinking: "Black is the universally cool option, right?" Well, yeah, but then realized it's a bit Nilfgaardian now too... :P But for those who don't mind that, or just want to "torture" the poor old patriot, there's now the option.

⚠️ IMPORTANT INFORMATION

  • **File occupation**: The current skin uses the locations of `leper_Q`, `leper_O` and `leper_P`. If you have other mods using these locations, please rename the files to avoid conflicts.
  • **Posture Description**: I modified the animation of the "defensive" stance. One of Leper's buffs (forgot the name, probably the one that adds armor and markings) shares animations with the "defensive" stance, so it will also use the new lean-back defense image. This doesn't exactly line up with the silhouette of the skill effect, but since the effect basically covers the character, it shouldn't be too much of a problem, but I'll note it here.

🔧 Installation instructions

  • After downloading the file, you will find 3 folders.
  • For the GOG version, I am not sure about the specific installation method, but usually you need to put these folders into the `DarkestDungeon/heroes/Leper` directory.

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions

  1. Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
  2. There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
  3. Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
  4. Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.

Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
