---
🛠️ Installation and Uninstallation
- **Installation**: Extract the zip package to your "Darkest Dungeon" game root directory and overwrite the files.
- **After Uninstall/Update**: Use Steam's "Verify Game File Integrity" feature to restore the original files. **This is recommended after every game update. **

💡 Play suggestions and experiences
This mod takes the survival pressure of the game to new heights. Longer dungeons, more frequent traps and battles, combined with weakened instant death resistance, require you to think carefully before every move. Resource management becomes crucial - higher upgrade costs force you to make tough choices between equipping heroes and buying supplies.
**Suitable for**: Seasoned players looking for the ultimate challenge who are tired of the original linear dungeons and want to experience a more dynamic and unpredictable adventure.
🔮 **Author's Note**: I'm looking into the possibility of editing light/dark effects...if I can find those damn relevant references in the files.

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
