Uniform Darkness
A comprehensive balance overhaul mod that tweaks most skills and trinkets (especially the least useful ones) to broaden the variety of strategies possible in the game. Expect to see more use of weaker classes, more synergies in combat, and more thought about what teams, skills, and trinkets you'll bring into the dungeon.

Uniform Darkness Balance Remake Mod
🎮 **Welcome to Uniform Darkness! ** This mod aims to bring you a brand new Darkest Dungeon gaming experience through a comprehensive balance overhaul.
✨ Module Overview
The core idea of this mod is **"upward balancing"**, which means to greatly enhance skills and accessories that are useless or too situational, thereby broadening the scope of feasible strategies and making the game more deep and diverse. Get ready for the appearance of more weak professions, richer combat synergies, and more brain-intensive team building decisions!

🔧 Main changes
**Skill Remake**
Most skills (especially weak ones) have been tweaked to make them useful in a wider range of situations, while largely maintaining their original design intent. Now choosing which skills for your hero to bring into the dungeon will be an even harder decision!
**Area Attack (AoE) Enhancement**
Almost all area attack skills now have better damage modifiers or other adjustments, making them a more viable option in more situations.
**Skill learning cost reduced**
To encourage you to use a more diverse set of skills, the costs of learning and upgrading skills have been reduced by **50%** and **20%** respectively.
**Carriage system remade**
- Maximum roster capacity increased to **40** (equivalent to 2 slots per profession, plus 2 additional teams).
- Experienced recruiters appear more frequently, which should effectively reduce refresh times.
**Accessories Remade**
- Generally, only the strongest trinkets now have side effects.
- Item configuration related to critical strike, dodge, damage reduction and pressure resistance has been improved, making defensive play more feasible.
*(Note: The accessories introduced by the Crimson Court expansion have not been changed yet, but the author plans to update them after playing the DLC.)*
**Wandering Merchant Remade**
- Maximum of **18** cosmetics available per week.
- Accessories are generally cheaper (but also sell for less), and rare accessories appear more frequently.
**Marking system reworked**
- Skills like Sniper Shot now have damage modifiers over **+100%** against marked targets, but will clear the mark.
- More skills can mark targets, or have a small bonus to marked targets (such as "Pistol Shot").
- Marking now reduces both the target's **Damage Reduction** and **Evasion**, rather than just one or the other.
**More treatment options**
The healing abilities of the Crusaders, Crossbowmen, Antiquities Traders, and Plague Doctors have been significantly improved (the original game had 16 classes and only one reliable healer, which was really annoying). Of course, the Sister is still the **best healer**, with the best single-target healing and the only group-healing skills.
**Damage over time (DoT) enhancement**
Most poison and bleed effects now deal more damage, making them a better choice than direct damage more often than not.

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
