Hospital Knight battle painting update
✨ **A quick fix so your Hospitaller no longer looks like a plate of scrambled eggs! **
🛠️ Module function
This mod is designed to quickly fix the appearance of the Hospitaller Crusader in combat. The original battle graphics display abnormally in some situations, but this mod provides a clearer and more expected visual effect.
📁 Installation method
Installation is very simple, just one step:
- Find your Darkest Dungeon game directory.
- Navigate to the `darkest dungeon/heroes/crusader/crusader_E/animations` folder.
- Replace the original file with the same name with the `crusader.combat.sprite.png` file provided by this module.
**Note**: Please make sure your game file path is consistent with the above. If you have renamed related files, please search for the corresponding combat drawing file in the `crusader_E` folder and replace it yourself.
⚠️ IMPORTANT NOTE
- The author clearly states that this is a **Quick fix**, not a perfect solution, but it can effectively improve visual problems.
- This mod only replaces one image file and is generally more compatible with other mods, but if other mods also modify the same file of Hospital Knight, conflicts will occur.
---
Hopefully this little fix will improve your experience fighting alongside the Hospitaller in the Abyss! 🛡️⚔️
Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
