About this mod Machine translation

TF2 Engineer

The Engineer was a soft-spoken, affable Texan from Bee Cave, Texas, with an interest in all things mechanical. He excels at building and maintaining structures that provide support to his team rather than fighting on the front lines, making him best suited for defense.

But thanks to a prank by Melams, the mercenaries are trapped in Hamlet in Darkest Dungeon. Using his ingenuity, the Engineer used his structures to face hordes of enemies until the opportunity arose to return to Tuft.

🛠️Character gameplay

The Engineer himself is an average ranged damage dealer and healer. But his highlight moments are building sentries to absorb incoming damage. His abilities revolve around attracting enemies and counterattacking, and the more enemies focus on him, the more damage he does. He excels in long fights, which gives him the opportunity to upgrade his Sentinel, making him stronger and more dangerous at the cost of lowering his dodge and debuff resistance. When the Engineer upgrades the Sentinel to level 3, he will unlock the ability to use a "remote control" to shoot enemies with the Sentinel, at the cost of marking himself and possibly stunning himself in the process.

However, an Engineer without a Sentry Gun is not useless and can still provide fire support if upgrading Sentinels is not a priority. His support ability also allows him to restore health to himself and his allies in critical situations.

While resting in camp, the Engineer supports the team by delivering supplies, healing the party, and providing cheap protection against nighttime ambushes.

⚠️ Known issues

  • When teleported out of the farm and into combat, the Engineer will retain his mode but lose his buffs. This cannot be fixed because it uses a similar framework to Abomination, which has the same bug in the game.

👋 Author’s words

Hi! I'm Toby IO and this is my first mod for Darkest Dungeon. I've been planning on making this mod for a while, but due to life and busyness, the mod was put off for a long time. If you have any suggestions or feedback, please feel free to post in the discussion forum!

Thanks to Discord **Moonlit Dungeon**, and especially **O'Nightmare!**, for helping resolve some coding errors and issues related to how Darkest Dungeon works!

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions

  1. Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
  2. There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
  3. Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
  4. Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.

Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
