🦢 Character introduction

The Disciple of the Swan is a young ascetic monk (in his early twenties) from the Far East who sets out on a journey to (perhaps naively) improve his spiritual practice by confronting the horrors of Hamlet. He learned the way of the Swan, and the word "disciple" reflects his youth.

He can fight anywhere in the team and specializes in healing teammates and marking enemies.

**✨ Advantages:**

  • **Healer**
  • **Mark Enemy**
  • **Adaptable to all positions**, able to attack most enemies

**⚠️ Disadvantages:**

  • Damage output below average
  • Lack of other feats (cannot stun, apply corrosion/bleed, heal pressure, etc.)
  • Belongs to the **religious** camp (cannot team up with Abomination)

⚔️ Combat Skills

The Swan Disciple's combat skills are named after his daily duties at the temple. Perhaps he was feeling homesick after wandering away for too long.

  • **Clean the courtyard** - Attack the two enemies in front, knock them back, and then **retreat 1 square**.
  • **Patch Tool** - Targets an ally and provides the ally and the Swan Disciple with a buff that lasts for **3 turns**.
  • **Ring the gong** - Attack an enemy and then **advance 1 space**.
  • **Recital of the Commandments** - Target an ally and heal that ally and the Swan Disciple himself.
  • **Harvest Wheat** - Attack an enemy and **strengthen your own healing skills** for 3 rounds. If the attack misses, the buff will not take effect.
  • **Quiet Desire** - Deals **lower damage** to an enemy and **marks** it.
  • **Guard the Temple** - **Guard** an ally for 2 turns and heal him/her, then apply **Healing Debuff** to the ally for 3 turns. At the same time, it provides itself with a **protection** buff that lasts for 3 rounds.

🏕️ Camp Skills

The Swan Disciple is a busy person who is happiest doing chores when in camp - whether it's helping teammates recover or keeping the camp tidy. He has the default "Inspire", "Wound Care" and "Pump Up" camp skills, as well as the following 4 exclusive skills:

✍️ Author’s words

I'm still new to Darkest Dungeon and have tried my best to balance this character to provide the best gaming experience. However, I know that it may still be unbalanced in the eyes of many players, so I'm really looking forward to your feedback and suggestions on gameplay and balance! If you have an idea for this class, like a new skill or trinket, I'd love to hear about it!

I'm also a **huge fan** of Muscarine's Hollow class mod, which inspired me to try making a hero mod.

Special thanks to setanagato for his valuable feedback and help in resolving this major issue with blue text. You are awesome, Seta! :)

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions

  1. Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
  2. There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
  3. Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
  4. Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.

Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
