Sprite optimization and visual adjustments for the awesome mod "Here Be Monsters"
Somber Here be Monsters
🎨 ** Take the excitement to the next level! **
`Here Be Monsters` is a fantastic monster pack on Steam. This mod aims to make this already great work **even more perfect** by adjusting the visual effects of monster sprites.
---
✨ Visually adjusted content
Most monsters have been tweaked as follows to better match the visuals of the original game:
- **Color Saturation Adjustment**: Let the colors of monsters blend into the game world more harmoniously.
- **Add Noise**: Make the texture more consistent with the original style and avoid being too smooth.
🛠️ Deeply optimized monsters
I noticed that many of the custom sprites don't have as much use of shadows and bold strokes as the original Darkest Dungeon. Therefore, I performed **additional hand-optimization** on the following monsters to significantly improve their shadow and detail performance:
- **Isopod** (isopod)
- **Swine leader** (Pig leader)
- **Swine Forger** (Pig Blacksmith)
- **Satyr** (Satyr)
These monsters now have **manually added shadows and details**, making the contrast between light and dark stronger and looking more three-dimensional and vivid!

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
