Fixed incorrect combat (and possibly other) animations in most Crusader skins. In addition, I also want to fix other hero skins, such as nun, plague doctor, etc.

Skins (replacers) animation fixes

🎮 **Please note: This is just an animation fix patch! ** If you want the full skin replacer, please download it from the original source (and then use my fix patch).

✨ Module Introduction

I have no intention of appropriating the fruits of other people's work, this is just my fix. Because, man, it feels so bad when the Crusader skin turns into a bunch of flying blocks with compressed textures mid-battle! So I decided to fix it (to be honest, I never understood why no one else did this, it only takes 20 minutes of work in Photoshop).

If some fixes already exist, then I'm sorry, I didn't find them. 😅

🔧 Repaired skin list

Here's my current fix for the skin replacer (hope the description can be edited or I'm screwed):

  • **Bounty Hunter Vestal Crusader skins** - He looks like...a skeleton?
  • **Arthail's Full Plate Armor Crusade** - God save my king!
  • **Helmless Crusader** - Helmless Crusader, but only outside of combat.
  • **White Bucket Crusader** - White...ah, wait.
  • **Dark Souls II Crusader Skin** - Praise the Sun! 🌞
  • **Bloodborne Highwayman Skin** - Are you ready to kill and be killed?
  • **Owl leper skin** - I can't find the original source (on this site), so, sorry, creator, I don't know who you are.

**That’s all for now! **

⚠️ Important statement

I **won't** fix all my skin. If you need a specific skin fix, please let me know in a comment on the post/forum or elsewhere.

📂 Installation Guide

Hope you know how to "install" skins etc. If you don't know, oh well, here's how to install it:

Place the repair file into the skin folder of the corresponding hero (if you modify the letter identification of the skin file, for example, you change "crusader_B" to "crusader_G", then you also need to make the same modifications to the repair file):

**Installation path example:**
`*Steam/steamapps/common/where your game is installed*/Darkest Dungeon/heroes/crusader *or other heroes*/`

That's it!

💡 Usage suggestions

  • Make sure you have the **Original Skin Mod** installed that you want to fix.
  • This patch only solves animation display errors (such as textures turning into blocks), and does not include the skin model itself.
  • It is recommended to back up the original files before installation.

Enjoy smoother, more beautiful hero animations! Hopefully this small fix will improve your Darkest Dungeon experience.

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions

  1. Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
  2. There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
  3. Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
  4. Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.

Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
