Shield Maiden - Class Mod

"Come, stand behind me. I will protect you from hurt and despair."

A shieldmaiden from Nokaria, born of a proud and honorable bloodline. During the war, they were the unbreakable shield that protected their brothers and sisters. In times of crisis, they aid the tribe through their healing touch and self-sacrifice. As an evil and terrifying threat descends from beneath the manor, the Shieldmaiden once again answers the call and joins the team to fight this evil. Their motto "As long as I stand, no one will fall" rings loud and true again.

🛡️ Career positioning

The Shield Maiden can provide powerful defensive support to any team. They are even better than guards at taking damage and protecting allies. At first glance, they may lack offensive capabilities, but with certain builds and team compositions, they can still be crafted into a damage-dealing role.

⚔️ Skill list

  • **Cross Slash**: Basic attack.
  • **Front Guard**: Guard 2 targets.
  • **Shield Crash**: A forward-moving attack with a chance to knock back the enemy.
  • **Avenger**: Activate a counterattack stance to increase your attack power when attacked.
  • **Guardian**: Guard the target and restore a small amount of health.
  • **Healing Touch**: A very powerful healing skill, but it has a limited number of uses and is only available at level 4.
  • **Indomitable Will**: Self-buffs and healing.

📝 Design instructions

Finally, the long-lost Shield Girl was brought back to the team. (She was removed a few versions ago, maybe two years ago or so?). Not only were several of her abilities reworked (as many of her abilities and role-playing had evolved into that of Martyr), but her appearance was also changed (abandoning the Holy Sister style in favor of a more Viking feel). However, the original skins are still retained for players who prefer the look of the older version.

📥 How to install

Open the zipped folder, copy and paste the folders inside into the game directory. That should do the trick. (But I haven't tested it myself since I'm using the Steam version. Please see if that works.) (Also, I think you could put it in the game's mod folder as well, but again, I'm not sure.)

She should eventually appear in Stagecoach, like the other heroes.

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions

  1. Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
  2. There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
  3. Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
  4. Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.

Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
