6 quirks and 4 lockable slots
🎮 **Hello everyone! This is my first module. It mainly implements functions through simple file editing. I hope you all like it! **
✨ Module function
This mod is very simple and straightforward:
- All heroes can now have **up to 6 positive quirks** and **up to 6 negative quirks**.
- Lockable quirk slots increased from 3 to **4**!
💡 **Please note**: After the game is updated, you may need to re-edit the file.
Additionally, there is a **6 Quirks and 6 Lockable Slots** version for the Blood Moon version.

🔧 Modified files
This mod modifies the following game files:
- `Character.layout.darkest`
- `Rules.json`
⚠️ **It is strongly recommended to back up your original files before operation! **

📝 Manual editing guide (no need to download the mod)
If you want to modify it yourself, you can follow these steps:
- Find your "Darkest Dungeon" installation directory (Steam/GoG) and open the `shared` folder.
- Find the `Rules.json` file and open it with Notepad.
- Find and modify the following values:
- `"quirks_max_positive": 5,` changed to `6`
- `"quirks_max_negative": 5,` changed to `6`
- `"quirks_max_locked_positive": 3,` changed to `4`
- `"quirks_max_locked_negative": 3,` changed to `4`
- Save and close the file.
- In the same `shared` folder, find and open the `character` folder.
- Find the `character.layout.darkest` file and open it with Notepad.
- Find this line under the `character_quirks_layout:` section:
- `.positive_list_offset 100 56`
- Change the value `100 56` to `84 44` and you’re done!
Hopefully this mod will give you more flexibility and fun in managing your hero's quirks! 😄

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
