no more heroes

"Male and female, soldiers or outlaws, fools or corpses. The road is clear, and they will find their way. But... please be careful with the life in your hands, not as I treat the life in mine. Life is a precious tool, and soon you will use it up. Sooner or later you will look at the ancient road and know that no more will come."

no more heroes

"Male and female, soldier or outlaw, fool or corpse. The way is clear and they will find their way.
However...
Please be careful with the life in your hands, don't treat it like I treat the life in mine. Life is a precious tool, and soon you will use it up. Sooner or later you will look at the ancient road and know that there will be no more. "

🎮 **Welcome to my first mod! **The core idea of this mod is: at the beginning of the game, you only have **16 heroes (one for each class)** and nothing else. If you can do it, win the game!

In order to balance this extremely challenging gameplay, this module has also made the following adjustments:

⚔️ 1. Can be equipped with 7 combat skills

To balance the lack of combos due to the single hero lineup, and the fact that there is only one hero of each type, you can now equip up to 7 active skills in battle. Of course, you still only have 4 skills when you start, and the other skill trees need to be unlocked through training in the guild as usual.

  • **Thanks to Ties for their awesome mod** (All 7 Combat Skills Equipable - Crimson Court Version) for making this possible.
  • **The guild will be open in the first week**.

🎒 2. Inventory stacking

In this mod, you don't have unlimited heroes to throw into the "meat grinder" to farm for loot. To compensate for this, I made the stacking cap for gems, gold, and heirlooms almost infinite. This is helpful, but still falls short of the vanilla infinite grind, so please **mind your inventory management**. Supplies, quest items, and campfire tools stack the same way, so if you're smart enough, you'll never need to discard your loot.

🩸 3. Reduce the chance of Scarlet Curse infection

Even so, risks remain. Since there are only 16 heroes available, be careful when moving around the courtyard, otherwise all your heroes will soon be thirsty for blood.

🎲 4. Event adjustment

  • **NO ADDITIONAL RECRUITMENT EVENTS**. This is obvious.
  • **Resurrection events are possible from week one**, but the base trigger chance has been reduced.
  • **The Worf invasion may happen earlier** (possibly 34 weeks later instead of 40 weeks later in the original version). This is because you only have 16 heroes to develop, and their determination levels will increase faster. If you really want to avoid this event, just avoid having 4 heroes reach Resolve Level 5 - just like in vanilla, the event will only occur if this condition is met.

---

💀 **You can finally actually "lose" the game in normal mode**, I mean, it doesn't end by losing patience...

  • Compatible with all difficulties. Good luck on Blood Moon difficulty!
  • **Requires "The Scarlet Court" and "The Ascetic" DLC**.

Have fun!

⚠️ IMPORTANT WARNING!

**🚫 Never hire a “contract” from Stagecoach! 🚫 Never start a mission with them! 🚫 Otherwise, the game will crash! **

These "contracts" are meant to represent the contracts you have with your admins and heroes, and they are necessary to avoid certain crashes because the game cannot handle having to generate a week without any heroes.

Oddly enough, the crashes themselves aren't dangerous, just annoying. It will pop you back to the desktop when you complete a task. You **don't lose** the loot, experience, quirks, etc. gained at the end of that particular mission, but the game will close and return to the desktop. These "contracts" are designed to prevent this from happening.

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions

  1. Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
  2. There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
  3. Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
  4. Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.

Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
