Witches are not wizards in the traditional sense. They are **selfish pretenders** in the field of magic, lacking systematic training and talent, but eager to gain real power. For this reason, they do not hesitate to trade with entities that feed on human nature, sacrificing their health, lifespan and even soul fragments (sometimes not even their own) time and time again in exchange for short-term powerful power. It is the promise of true magic that draws them to this small town, where they hope to gain true power and ultimately freedom.

🚌 How to get

The Witch will appear in **Stagecoach** as a recruitable hero. For the best experience, it is recommended to **start a new game**.

⚠️ **IMPORTANT**: If you delete this mod file in the future, it may cause the game to crash if you still have the Witch hero in your party.

📥 Installation Guide

• **Copy files**: Unzip the module folder and copy it to the root directory of your "Darkest Dungeon" game.
• The usual path is: `C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\DarkestDungeon\`
• This action will overwrite and add the file to the appropriate game folder.

• **Add code manually (key step)**:
• You will need to **manually** copy and paste all the code provided below into the `\DarkestDungeon\scripts\effects.darkest` file in your game directory.
• This adds all necessary skill effects to the Witch profession.

The witch is a high-risk, high-reward profession, and her power is based on sacrifice and transaction. Her skills have various effects, including:

• **Weaken Enemy**: Reduces its damage, attack rating, and defense.
• **Strengthen yourself**: Obtain huge damage bonus through specific states (such as bleeding, poisoning) or sacrificing teammates.
• **Unique Curse and Gain**: It has multi-level effects such as "Blood Curse", "Petrified Curse", "Filthy Touch", etc., which can not only weaken the opponent, but also greatly improve itself under certain conditions.
