Inventory and Item Overhaul

🎮 **A balance mod designed to improve the Darkest Dungeon inventory experience while maintaining the flavor of the original! **

✨ Original intention of the module

During my playthrough, I often felt compelled to drop tons of valuable loot into missions. After all the stress, torture, and illness the heroes endured, this lack of reward from the original game frustrated me. There are too many (random) negative factors affecting your team, draining your gold and supplies. This problem persists even on short expeditions. Extra items like firewood, dog treats, and trinkets make the situation worse. So I balanced this out by adding some inventory slots and increasing the stacking limit for some items.

💰 Item price adjustment

In addition, the prices of some items have also been adjusted. Because buying "enough" supplies will cost you almost all the gold you earned from the last mission, leaving you with little money left for anything other than supplies for the next mission. Now, the **sale price of items is mostly equal to 25%** of their original price.

  • **Food purchase price**: 75 → **30**
  • **Shovel purchase price**: 250 → **100**
  • **Bandage purchase price**: 150 → **75**
  • **Bandage sales price**: 15 → **18**
  • **Anti-venom purchase price**: 150 → **100**
  • **Anti-venom selling price**: 15 → **25**
  • **Master Key Purchase Price**: 200 → **150**
  • **Master key sales price**: 20 → **40**
  • **Herb purchase price**: 200 → **125**
  • **Herb sales price**: 20 → **30**
  • **Torch sale price**: 5 → **18**
  • **Holy water purchase price**: 150 → **100**
  • **Holy water sales price**: 15 → **25**

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions

  1. Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
  2. There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
  3. Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
  4. Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.

Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
