🎯 Module function

  • **Clear information at a glance**: When you hover the mouse over an heirloom in the town interface, dungeon backpack, or game encyclopedia, the specific building used to upgrade the heirloom will be directly displayed.
  • **Minimalist Design**: The information is concise and clear, ensuring you can understand it in an instant without having to read long sentences.
  • **Seamless integration**: 100% integrated into the original game interface, without any sense of disobedience, as if the game should be like this.
  • **Highly Compatible**: The author has tried his best to avoid any unexpected changes, so it is compatible with most other UI and gameplay mods.

🛠️ Installation Guide

Choose the most suitable installation method according to your needs:

**🔧 Standard installation (recommended)**

  • Extract the downloaded file to any location on your computer.
  • Find your game directory (usually something like `C:\Steam\steamapps\common\DarkestDungeon\`) and back up the following two files in the `localization` folder:
  • `english.loc`
  • `miscellaneous.string_table.xml`
  • Replace them with the new files provided by the mod.
  • Done! Launch the game and enjoy.

**🔩DIY installation (using localization tools)**

  • Unzip the file.
  • Back up the `miscellaneous.string_table.xml` file in the game `localization` folder.
  • Copy the module’s new `miscellaneous.string_table.xml` file to the `localization` folder and overwrite it.
  • Run the `localization.exe` program in the `DarkestDungeon\_windows` directory and it will automatically integrate the changes into the game.
  • Done!

**🧩 Manual modification (resolve module conflicts)**

If the above method conflicts with another mod you like, you can manually edit your `miscellaneous.string_table.xml` file.

  • Open the file using a text editor (such as Notepad++).
  • Use **Ctrl + F** to search and replace the following three sets of entries:

**Dungeon Backpack Description:**

  • Replace the original entry with a new entry containing `(Upgrades:...)` to clearly indicate the upgrade target building.

**Game Encyclopedia entry:**

  • Modify the description of the entry corresponding to the heirloom to clearly indicate the specific building to be upgraded (such as Abbey, Sanitarium, Tavern, Guild, etc.).

**Town interface tooltip:**

  • Modify the prompt text of the town resource column, replacing the general "used to upgrade town buildings" with a specific building list.
  • Save the file and run `localization.exe`.
  • Done!
**✨ Tip**: The complete original code and replacement code are provided in the module description for you to copy and paste directly.

I hope this little convenience mod improves your gaming experience as much as it improved mine! Good luck in the dungeon (and leveling up efficiently)!

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions

  1. Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
  2. There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
  3. Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
  4. Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.

Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
