Fugitive Highwayman Skin
✨ Module introduction
This mod adds a brand new skin to the bandit class in Darkest Dungeon, inspired by Dismas' appearance in the Early Access trailer for Darkest Dungeon 2!
"We all saw the trailer and I was determined to do this in three days. I did it in two days."
This mod also supports **Butcher Arena** and has exclusive death animations. If you want this skin to work perfectly in Arena, be sure to check out the compatibility fix notes below.

⚙️ Butcher Arena compatibility fix
**Important**: This fix is only necessary if you mind the mod's death animation texture appearing as a white square in the arena final screen. A full fix requires **replacing a default skin**. If you don't mind this small missing texture and don't want to replace the default skin, you don't need to do the following at all**.
In arena combat, death animations will play normally. The problem only occurs in the settlement screen after the match. Here's how to fix it:
You need to replace one of the default bandit skins in the game (`highwayman_A` / `highwayman_B` / `highwayman_C` / `highwayman_D`) with the content of this mod.
**Operation steps**
- **Rename skin folder**:
Rename the `fugitive_highwayman_A` folder to the default skin name you want to replace (e.g. `highwayman_A`).
- **Copy death animation file**:
Copy the death animation file `highwayman.sprite.dead` in the module folder to the corresponding path of Butcher Arena:
`DarkestDungeon > dlc > 1117860_arena_mp > heroes > highwayman > [default skin folder you choose to replace] > anim`
- **Rename the replaced skin (optional)**:
You can rename the replaced original default skin folder to `fugitive_highwayman_A`. **Note**: This will cause the skin to not display the death animation properly in Butcher's Arena, but will work fine in all other modes of the game.

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
