Art Fixes

🎨 **A mod focused on fixing various graphics errors in the game, making your "Darkest Dungeon" visual experience more perfect! **

✨ List of repair contents

This mod fixes a series of sprite and image display errors in the game, including:

  • **Portrait Repair**:
  • **Red Abomination**: Its portrait icon incorrectly used the orange rag color in the blue palette, this has been fixed.
  • **Green Plague Doctor**: His portrait showed a brown mask, this has been fixed.
  • **Equipment icon fix**:
  • Fixed the **Plague Doctor** level 0 weapon icon to now correctly use its corresponding border, rather than the borders of other levels.
  • **Sprite color and component fixes**:
  • **Blue Crossbowman**: His **Camping** and **Defense** sprites were missing complete golden knee pads (which are present in other sprites), and have been completed.
  • **Crossbowman Investigation**: Investigation sprites for all three palettes incorrectly used the default skin tone (especially noticeable on the red palette), this has been fixed.
  • **Antiquarian and Nun Camping**: The upper half of the Antiquarian's robe incorrectly uses the default brown color; the lower half of the nun's robe (loincloth?) never changes color. Both have been fixed.
  • **Barbarian Breakthrough**: The color of its legs never changed in sprites (very noticeable in its yellow palette), this has been fixed.
  • **Leper's Defense**: Its belt buckle did not change color in the defense sprite (it stood out a bit in its red color palette), this subtlety has also been fixed.
  • **Additional Fixes (Updated January 15, 2017)**:
  • Fixed icon bug for **Abomination C Palette** (its rag color was orange, but it should be red in the actual sprite).

📥 Installation Guide

Installation is very easy!

  • Place the mod files into your `DarkestDungeon` game folder.
  • **Steam version**: This folder is usually located in the `steamapps/common` directory (for example: `C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\DarkestDungeon\heroes`). You can also quickly locate it through the Steam client: right-click "Darkest Dungeon" in the library -> Properties -> Local Files -> Browse Local Files.
  • **GoG/DRM-Free version**: Please find the game directory in the drive where you installed the game (usually the `Program Files` or `Program Files (x86)` folder).

---

**💡 Usage Suggestions**: Although these fixes may seem like details, they can significantly improve the overall coordination and immersion of the game screen, especially for players who pursue a perfect visual experience. After installation, almost no settings are required to take effect!

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions

  1. Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
  2. There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
  3. Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
  4. Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.

Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
