All Heroes
🎮 **A straightforward mod that replaces your hero roster with optimized champion heroes for each class. **
This mod is simply a roster of heroes copied from an extremely optimized, late-game save file. Its sole purpose is to help other players skip the similarly boring leveling process.
---
✨ Module function
- **Start at full level**: Have a complete roster of level 5 heroes at the beginning of the game, making it easy to get through the toughest part of the game.
- **Skip leveling**: If you just want to experience the story, this mod can help you skip the most tedious and random aspects of the game.
- **Hero Resurrection**: If any of your heroes die, just overwrite the file again and they will magically be resurrected.
- **Two options**: The module contains two files, corresponding to the basic version and the full DLC version of the hero roster.
💡 **NOTE**: Using this mod will clear your graveyard and **remove your current roster of heroes** (including any trinkets they have equipped at the time), then replace them with the heroes from the mod.

📂 Installation instructions
- **Download File**: Download the file named `persist.roster.json`.
- **Find the save location**: Open your "Darkest Dungeon" game save folder. The default path is `Documents > Darkest > profile_0`.
- Archive files are numbered starting from 0: `profile_0` corresponds to the first archive, `profile_1` corresponds to the second one, and so on.
- **Replace file**: Find and delete the original `persist.roster.json` file, and then replace it with the file in the module.
- **Launch Game**: Done! Now you have a whole team of battle-hardened veterans starting from week one!

- **`18 Heroes`**: Based on the 15 heroes, three additional heroes from subsequent DLC have been added.
- **Required Content**: Requires the base game and the Shieldbreaker, Musketeers, Crimson Court and Colors of Madness DLC to function properly.

🤔 In-depth analysis of quirks
Tired of grinding for that **only** quirk for your favorite heroes?
Everything in this file can (theoretically) be obtained with enough luck and patience.
**How to implement multiple heroes with multiple copies of unique quirks? **
The answer is to take advantage of the **"From Beyond"** town events. When this event occurs, you can resurrect one of three heroes who have died and are buried in the cemetery. They lose all skills and armor upgrades, but retain their Resolve level, as well as all quirks and ailments they had at death.
If a hero dies while possessing a unique Quirk, the Quirk remains in its graveyard state. As long as no other living hero on the roster has the same quirk, other heroes can get their own copy of the unique quirk.
Once your graveyard is full of heroes with unique quirks, you can repeatedly use the "From Beyond" event to resurrect them one by one, thus bypassing the normal limits on unique quirks, since dead heroes don't count against the limit.
**Is this possible without cheating or using mods? **
**Yes. **
**Would any sane person try to do this manually? **
Considering the target audience of this game? Well, there probably is. Unfortunately, this requires multiple uses of a relatively rare town event, meaning it could take hundreds of weeks to resurrect even a handful of heroes, let alone the entire roster.
**For anyone try …
Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
