Slowe's Realist Reprint Presuppositions
Tweaked presets to make your Dragon Age: Inquisition more realistic! A bit...
What the preset attempts to do:
Try to improve the OG lighting instead of pushing the results anywhere near unrecognizable. There may be future updates to address any issues, as well as some additional miscellaneous presets being added to the roster, so be sure to keep an eye out for those :).
Some things to note:
I have absolutely no idea how any Reshade Preset affects PC performance, if at all. If anyone would like to provide any insight, that would be very welcome and appreciated. I also highly recommend playing with the gamma settings a bit if you feel like some of the presets don't look that impressive.
edit:
Using my horrible computer, I see a drop of about 10-30fps when using Reshade. My specs are:
Intel Core i5-6400
DDR4 8G
NVIDIA GeForce GTX970 (I plan on upgrading soon, I promise)
Hard drive 1TB
DVD RW
Then some WiFi crap I'm not too sure about, but I can't be sure.
Credit and thanks to:
I just thought I'd add that Siuan, the creator of the Realistic Lighting ReShade Preset, and many others, this is a huge opportunity for the creators who created this. I'll never be as good as them at what they do, but hey, why not give it a try? (PS, while I'm inspired by their work, mine are all created from scratch. :)) As for credit, DA obviously belongs to Bioware/EA or something, I'm in the process of creating a full list of the mods I use, but as of now the core/basic stuff that can be seen in the screenshots can be found here:
- Facial textures for Cole, Varric, Blackwall, Thoros, Dorian, and Bull
- Face Textures for Cassandra, Leliana, Vivienne and Josephine
- Salad and Karen's Face Texture
- Morrigan's Feather and Inquisition Chairman Restoration
- Hair and currently unavailable eye textures.
- Save game for testing models and sliders:
Just as a little extra, I thought I would use a model for the character's slider that is not an "in-game" character (I mean the investigator). As of now, I only have one. To replicate the slider as accurately as possible, I highly recommend following the instructions here.
renew:
6/26/19 - Added and edited version that restores the game's original color palette as well as its original contrast. Shadows should also perform a little better.
I/Don’t/Remember - Added 2.0! The colors are more realistic than the original, the shadows should perform better, and the overall look should be a bit friendlier. Most DOFs are functional and completely optional.
Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
