Dorian Editing
Fixed post texture issues and other optional edits.
*All these cold releases coming in, I just want it*
- describe -
I started out wanting to fix the unfortunate texture issue on Dorian's back, and eventually expanded that into various other gear edits and changes.
Primary mod -----
Dorian Base Texture Edit
This mod does a few things:
Fix rear texture issue,
Change the tone map to remove the texture pattern from the collar and pelvic area, and
Added a new pattern for the collar lining painted directly on the diffuse.
I always thought it was silly to have the same pattern on his shirt lining and crotch, so I removed it. Also, I added a new pattern for the diffusion - this IS color is related to whatever color you would use in his normal armor.
*Please do not use this if you are using another Dorian armor editor, such as Dorian in Blackian. They changed the same files. *
Optional modules-----
Dorian base color edit
This contains a color edit of his base/casual armor, seen around Haven and Skyhold. These are a color edit of mesh, consisting of dark leather and a colorful collar.
The collar is available in two colors:
a simple gray
A blue and silk tapestry same color that I personally edit and I upload for wider use
dorian coordination
This has some changes to Dorian's starting armor:
Change leather tone to Big Bear Leather
Added glove upgrades and enchanted coats for a handcrafted look.
This is so named because I used a large bearskin to color Dorian's armor later in the game.
The glove issue is a bit more complicated. In order to make this work, I needed to change the look of the Light Armor Arm upgrade - which you can find as a standard piece of loot and merchant equipment - to its more crafted appearance. I changed the appearance of all three levels of the mage's coat armor arms - only the coat arms.
- If you play as a mage, or have the mage use your preferred non-crafted coat gloves, please do not use this. *
Necromantic Staff
Changed the appearance of Dorian's starting staff to have matching grips and blades. This applies to Dorian's staff, as well as other staffs in the game using the same model. I admit this is mostly for screenshot purposes, since you can change his staff right after you get him in In Hushed Whispers.
Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
