The previous generation of this tool is "W3Edit", originally developed by `Sarcen` in 2015 and completed around the time of the release of The Witcher 3. After the `Sarcen` boss stopped updating, people on the WolvenKit team got permission to continue development.
Currently, WolvenKit allows reading and modifying all file formats of the REDEngine engine to some extent.

Acknowledgments
WolvenKit is a direct result of the hard work and continuous support, financial and otherwise, of the many researchers, programmers, artists, contributors, and companies that have helped with this project. Without their outstanding work and generous support, we never would have been able to create WolvenKit for Cyberpunk 2077. A very special thank you goes out to...

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
